Sakonnet Charters is fully licensed and insured. Our captain holds
current USCG 100 Ton Master's license with sail and commercial
towing endorsements and is certified in American Red Cross First Aid

We had a fabulous time in the 2010 Newport to Bermuda Race.
There were 183 sailboats in this race of all sizes and
classifications. We were in Division CD-11. We want to thank
those who sent messages as you followed our progress on the
www.iboattrack.com "Progress Board." We all had a fun,
relaxing time, during the race and return trip.
We ended up fifth in cruising division (CD-11) as well as winning
a first prize in the William Glenn Family Participation Cruiser
Division.
There were 183 sailboats in this race of all sizes and
classifications. We were in Division CD-11. We want to thank
those who sent messages as you followed our progress on the

At Sakonnet Charters we specialize in personalizing our charters to fit your needs. We can do
luncheon cruises from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. which includes a light breakfast, and a gourmet
luncheon for you and your party. Or you can book a dinner cruise with us from about 4:00 p.m.* to
sunset. (Time varies as season changes to about 3:00 p.m in September and October.) The dinner
cruise includes appetizers and a gourmet dinner for you and your companions. Soft beverages are
included on all charters. We have a BYOB policy for alcoholic beverages We leave out of
Sakonnet Point in Little Compton, RI. If that is not convenient, Third Beach Boat Ramp in
Middletown, RI is a great pick up and drop off point. We will pick up in Newport, RI or other ports
by arrangement, but there may be an extra fee involved.
Some of our popular destinations for Day cruises are Mackeral Cove or Dutch Harbor in
Jamestown, RI., A sail around the Newport area, passing by the Newport Mansions, or to visit
Newport Harbor area is also popular. A trip to the quiet island, Cuttyhunk Island, MA. is a nice

Why go bareboat when you can be waited on in luxury all day long? You don't have to worry
about food preparation, doing dishes or cleaning of any kind. You just sit and relax and enjoy
your sail and visit with your company. If you like to take the helm for a bit, Captain Bob will gladly
allow you. We'll even take your photos for you, if you like.
Overnight trips (two days of sailing) can go to Newport, Jamestown, Cuttyhunk, Oak Bluffs, Vineyard
Haven, Edgartown, Woods Hole, Menemsha, or Block Island.
For longer excursions we can take you to Nantucket, MA or Noank, CT, or Montauck, NY. to stop off
at the famous Gosman's Dock. These are ideas, but you are not limited to these. Call us with your
thoughts and we will arrange it, if possible.

We found your bottle on the beach between Montalivet and Le Gurp in France. Our position was 45°24'58"N, 1°8'28"W in the departement Gironde. We spent our Christmas holidays and we were very keen to find your bottle. The message was very difficult to read, because water moved inside. So we hope we have the right e-mail address! It is amazing to learn that our message traveled securely in a
corked wine bottle for 18 months, for a distance of 3000
nautical miles (almost 3500 miles) East across the Atlantic
Ocean, past the Sables d'Olonne Canyon, into the Bay of
Biscay to rest along the Aquitaine Shelf in the Montalivet
region of France.
