The Hinckley 59 Southwester is a true classic sailor's yacht- a
fast sloop, beautifully designed and constructed. Eclipse is
very spacious, with 3 private staterooms, a spacious galley, and
an extraordinary main cabin. In addition to a full set of sails the
vessel has a 140 HP diesel engine. Hot and cold running
water, heat and air conditioning, a full walk in shower and three
heads with showers ensure comfort for all aboard. The interior
is beautifully fitted out with a classic teak and holly cabin sole
and mahogany and teak woodwork with the world renowned
Hinckley quality craftsmanship.
Bring along your favorite tunes( Ipod or CDs). Snorkel gear or
kayaks available upon request.
The Captain of Eclipse :
The Captain of Eclipse is Bob Cavanagh, a native of Little
Compton, RI. A very friendly and professional captain, he
works to ensure every guest aboard has a wonderful
experience.
Captain Bob has over 30 years of year-round experience on the
water as a commercial fisherman, and designed and built his
own 54 foot lobster boat, named after his daughter, Alison
Rose. Bob is a licensed Captain with a United States Coast
Guard 100 Ton Master's license with sail and towing
endorsements. Bob has sailed Hinckley Yachts on the entire
Atlantic coast, from the southern Caribbean to the Canadian
border. He has sailed Eclipse in the Newport to Bermuda
race. Bob and his wife, Barbara, have three grown children,
who also enjoy sailing. In addition to life on the water, they also
enjoy skiing and family.
